Professional Services

Professional services is a broad term that refers to any business, department, or individual whose core output is a service or particular expertise, versus a manufactured product.

Professional services are often defined as occupations within the service sector that require special training. Some professional services (for example: architects, accountants, engineers, doctors, and attorneys) require the practitioner to hold professional degrees or licenses and possess specific skills. Other professional services involve providing specialist business support to businesses of all sizes and in all sectors; this can include tax advice, accounting support, IT services, or management consulting.
